If you have a Smart TV, then you know that you need to use a VPN Router if you want to view unlimited content. The simplest and best VPN router, in my opinion, has to be the Shellfire Box.
It’s small but mighty! Let’s go through some basic steps that you need to follow in order to get the Shellfire VPN Router Box working. After these steps, you’ll have unlimited television to enjoy all the time!
Step By Step Guide to Setup the Shellfire Box with your Smart TV
Get the Shellfire Box
If you haven’t already got a Shellfire Box, this is the first and most important step (obviously)! You can get the Shellfire Box directly from Amazon, and if you have a prime membership you can arrange next day delivery to your home. Amazon offers two different versions of the Shellfire VPN Router Box, and depending on your choice, you can either get 1 or 2 years of the premium service with your purchase!
Take note of your Network ID and Password
Your ID and password are on a little sticker on the bottom of your box. Make note of this, as you will need it if you are planning on connecting to the box via WiFi.
Plug the Shellfire Box into your existing Router
This is as easy as taking the supplied Ethernet cable and plugging one end into the WAN port (that’s the first one on the left if you’re looking at it head on) on your Shellfire Box. After this you plug the other end into a free port on your Internet Router.
Power the Shellfire VPN Router Box
Use the provided USB cable and a wall socket to power up your Shellfire Box. You will see a sequence of flashing lights on the little LED on the front. When these lights turn solid, your Shellfire Box is connected.
Connect your Smart TV to the Shellfire Box using an Ethernet cable
You can now plug your Smart TV directly into the available Ethernet (LAN) slot on the Shellfire VPN Router Box. The LAN Port is the middle connection between the WAN Port and the Micro USB (power) Port. This is generally the best option, as it gives you the fastest speeds. However, if your Smart TV does not have an Ethernet port, or if it is located in a room that is not close to your Shellfire Box, you should use WiFi.
Connect your Smart TV to the Shellfire Box using WiFi
Finally, connecting by WiFi is as easy as connecting to your Internet router. Visit your Smart TVs network settings, network or settings menu, and select the WiFi or Wireless settings option. After this, search for available WiFi networks and select the one that matches the ID from Step 2. Enter your password and you are done!
A Shellfire Box is an absolute must for devices that cannot connect to regular software, VPNs like Smart TVs, or Gaming Consoles. However, the best part about the Shellfire VPN Router Box is that once you have it installed in your home, all of your other devices can use it too! Enjoy!
